AUTOMOTIVE WORLD is an event where the latest technology in the automobile industry is shown off. This includes advancements in autonomous driving, electric vehicles, automotive parts and manufacturing techniques, and vehicle weight reduction. Every year since it was founded Candera has shown off their latest innovations at AUTOMOTIVE WORLD.

At their booth Candera will be showing off a demo that uses the multi-display feature that was added to CGI Studio last year with the 3.11 update. This demo uses the aforementioned feature to achieve linking between multiple displays.

In addition, there will also be a demo for an HMI that uses LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) to assist in parking a car. With LiDAR, an object is targeted with a laser and the time for the reflected light to come back is measured in order to determine the distance to and shape of the object. By using such an HMI, the driver would be able to get more accurate information about objects surrounding the car than what a camera can provide.

There will be a variety of other demos shown off at Candera’s booth as well.

From June 21-23, 2022, Embedded World will be back on-site in Nuremberg, Germany. The Candera team is delighted to be back in person and will present its latest HMI solutions – including CGI Studio 3.10 with the award-winning Smart Importer.

With their background of 20 years in the demanding automobile markets, Candera is now reaching beyond – for the first time giving an interesting insight into the extension of their portfolio into industries beyond the traditional automobile market, presenting three new demos.

The new demos show the wide range of possibilities to use CGI Studio to easily create Graphical User Interfaces for any device. They include a Glucose Meter showing a modern design of a hand-held device for measuring one’s blood sugar, the Robotic Teaching for easy programming of individual parts of an automated factory – and a display for a high-end coffee machine.

For Candera’s latest CGI Studio version 3.10 the main feature is the now established award-winning “Smart AI-based graphics Importer”, which automatically transforms graphics into fully functional HMIs.  The “Smart Importer” now also permits direct import from PSD, Sketch or Axure RP.

More highlights of CGI Studio 3.10 include the new Japanese user interface in addition to English, enhanced samples and tutorials for easy onboarding, and improved “Candera LINK” remote rendering.

All of which will help designers to save precious time and costs.

MATLAB EXPO 2022 Japan is a conference which showcases the latest revolutionary technology. The conference will feature use cases of Simulink^®, a numerical analysis software developed by MathWorks, as well as lectures and presentations conducted by MathWorks employees.

Candera offers support for Simulink users in the form of its scalable and hardware-independent HMI design tool, CGI Studio. Using the CGI Studio MATLAB Connector, HMI applications made with CGI Studio can be integrated into MathWorks’ Simulink environment.

At Candera’s booth at MATLAB EXPO 2022 Japan, we will be showing a new demo: “Optimization of HMI Development with CGI Studio and Simulink”. Using CGI Studio, users can easily define inputs and outputs to and from Simulink. In doing so, necessary artifacts will be automatically generated, and with that, the HMI created in CGI Studio can be easily connected to Simulink and Stateflow^®. After that, by using Simulink Test™ and Image Processing Toolbox™, one can automate the baseline verification of the HMI screen transition logic.  One can also easily check the implementation and verification status of each requirement with the use of Requirements Toolbox™.
