Linz/Austria, May 2020 — Candera GmbH in Linz, Austria, is excited to announce that it is enhancing its CGI Studio through an integration with Monotype, the world’s largest type foundry.
CGI Studio customers will have access to Monotype’s premium font rendering engine, iType®. Optimized for efficiency and speed across numerous display environments, iType preserves clarity and legibility for on-screen characters. In addition to the embedded solution, customers will receive access to Monotype’s WorldType ShaperTM and global customer support network.

iType®
High- quality fonts for brands and user interface (UI) comprise one element of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI). However, rendering speed is an equally critical component of integrating fonts in HMIs. While free font rendering engines are a cost-effective option for simple and basic HMI, a more professional and performant tool is required for sophisticated and complex HMI solutions, like those used across the automotive and industrial sectors. Monotype’s iType engine meets and exceeds such high standards for display, even in the smallest, most memory-constrained devices, and also delivers additional benefits such as: vast device compatibility; reduced font data, file size and bandwidth; and efficient and simplified OEM (original equipment manufacturer) integration.
WorldType® ShaperTM
To further meet the needs of its multilingual customers, Candera will also begin offering Monotype’s WorldType Shaper, which helps eliminate language barriers and provide intelligent character shaping and bi-directional reordering for non-Latin scripts. Apart from enabling customers to communicate across devices in their native language, WorldType prioritizes device memory and speed to power the most pristine and seamless user experience.
